Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers

CPR - AED - Bag-Valve-Mask

  • Includes:
  • CPR, with and without an advanced airway
  • Rescue breathing
  • Bag-Valve-Mask resuscitator operation
  • Relief of choking
  • AED operation

Provides American Heart Association 2-year certification for CPR and AED. All students must first complete the American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers Online Part 1 course.

Emergency Medical Kit Review

Use of the emergency medical kit, including medications, devices and oxygen. Review the following:

  • Epinephrine auto-injectors
  • Back-up epinephrine ampules
  • Asthma inhalers
  • Nitroglycerine tablets and spray
  • Glucose
  • Aspirin
  • Administering emergency oxygen including flow rates
  • Operation of oxygen delivery devices
  • Precautions
  • Resuscitation of breathing and non-breathing patients

Onsite course duration: 1 hour

Onsite Emergency Response Planning

Plan development and staff training

  • Review of emergency response equipment
  • Development of emergency response roles and procedures
  • Staff training on roles and procedures
