Emergency Oxygen for the Dental Office
HealthFirst recommends for every dental office:
A Portable Oxygen system that is dedicated to emergency response
A centrally plumbed oxygen system using H-size cylinders may not provide positive-pressure capability for resuscitation. Moreover, centrally plumbed systems may not be able to reach patients in the waiting room, restroom or just outside the office. Therefore it is important to have access to a portable system that can reach a patient regardless of location.
Positive-Pressure capability for resuscitation
Many emergencies that occur in or near the dental office require positive pressure (12-15 LPM) oxygen to aid in resuscitation. Positive pressure may be provided with the combination of an oxygen source (portable cylinder) and a bag-valve-mask resuscitator or demand valve.
An E-Size Oxygen Cylinder to provide up to 30 minutes supply for the patient
In order to help keep a patient alive for up to 30 minutes (until medical rescue can arrive), the portable oxygen supply must provide the required capacity. An E-size cylinder holds 680 liters, enough to provide positive pressure for up to 30 minutes.
STEP 1: Start with the basic system to provide supplemental oxygen and mobility to the patient’s location:
Basic Emergency Oxygen System
Includes a pre-filled E-cylinder, variable regulator, supplemental O2 masks (adult and child), hose and nasal cannula.
Ground shipping only due to HAZMAT UN1072.
List Price: $269.95
STEP 2: Add Positive Pressure capability for resuscitation
If positive pressure O2 is required, choose one of the following:
AMBU® SPUR® II Disposable Resuscitator
Single-use adult bag-valve-mask to manually provide positive pressure oxygen
Note: The AMBU® SPUR® II is included with the Mobile ACLS Emergency Medical Kit
Demand Valve System

Note: Includes size 5 mask. Not recommended for pediatric patients.
List Price: $59.95
List Price: $329.95
STEP 3: Add Pediatric Support for positive pressure oxygen
AMBU® SPUR® II Disposable Resuscitator - Child
