Stanley F. Malamed, DDS
Dr. Malamed is a dentist anesthesiologist and Emeritus Professor of Dentistry at the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC in Los Angeles, where he taught from 1973 to 2013. He is a Diplomat of the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology and has authored more than 160 scientific papers and 17 chapters in various medical and dental journals and textbooks in the areas of physical evaluation, emergency medicine, local anesthesia, sedation and general anesthesia.
Dr. Malamed has received the Heidebrink Award [1996] from the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology as well as the Horace Wells Award from the International Federation of Dental Anesthesia Societies, 1997 (IFDAS). He has authored three widely used textbooks published by CV Mosby: Handbook of Medical Emergencies in the Dental Office (7th edition 2015); Handbook of Local Anesthesia (7th edition 2019); and Sedation–A Guide to Patient Management (6th edition 2017). In addition to the Emergency Medicine DVD set (2nd edition, 2008), he has published Malamed’s Local Anesthetic Technique DVD (2004).
Zev Schulhof, DMD, MD
Zev Schulhof holds a dental degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and a medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. Dr. Schulhof then completed a General Surgery internship at Mount Sinai Hospital. His Oral & Maxillofacial surgical training included a Chief Residency at Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Schulhof continues to be involved in residency training while maintaining his busy private practice in Teaneck NJ.
Dr. Schulhof is a sought-after lecturer on topics such as Medical Emergencies in the Dental Office, Pain Control and Anxiety, Botox and Facial Fillers, Implants and Bone Grafting. Dr. Schulhof teaches hands-on training courses for MIS implants, the American Academy of Facial Cosmetics and on Medical Emergencies in the Dental Office. He is also the Medical Director of the MIS Biomaterials and Bone Grafting division. He publishes articles both nationally and internationally on a variety of topics.
Dr. Schulhof is the current President of the American Academy of Facial Cosmetics, a Diplomate, in the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery; and a clinical instructor and attending surgeon, at Mount Sinai Hospital. He is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Donald Cohen, DMD
Scott A. Cohen, MD, MBA
Dr. Scott Cohen is a practicing inpatient and ambulatory physician who also serves as chief informatics officer for the Bassett Healthcare Network. Cohen completed his undergraduate work at the University at Albany in 1993 with a BS in Biology and received his MD degree from the Albany Medical College in 1997. He then joined Albany Medical Center Hospital to complete a residency in Family and Community Medicine, in which he is board-certified. Dr. Cohen joined the faculty at Bassett Medical Center in 2000 and has served as Informatics liaison and Medical Director during his tenure. He also earned an MBA in 2009 from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Dr. Cohen took a network-wide role in Informatics in 2009 and was named Chief Medical Information officer in 2013. He has a special interest in collaborative technology and patient care and has coordinated a group of hospitals throughout New York to implement processes to promulgate New York regulations.
Dr. Cohen enjoys seeing patients both in ambulatory practice and the inpatient setting as a hospitalist. He serves as adjunct faculty for Upstate Medical University and Columbia University.
In 2014 Cohen became dual board certified, adding Clinical Informatics certification, one of only 300 in the world. Cohen is a member of numerous committees surrounding Quality, Informatics and Medical Staff Governance. In 2015 Cohen was named Chief Performance Improvement Officer, in recognition for his role in Bassett’s Clinical Quality and Performance Improvement program.
