Drs. Fiona Collins, Heather Ferrarese Join HealthFirst Advisory Board

HealthFirst welcomes two new members to our independent Medical Advisory Board.  Each has distinct, distinguished achievements in healthcare practice and administration, patient safety and medical emergency readiness. The board guides our product and service solutions to meet emergency medical requirements in dental and medical offices and facilities.

“We are pleased to have Fiona Collins and Heather Ferrarese join us,” says Dr. Donald Cohen, HealthFirst chief clinical officer. “With their deep experience and academic training in infection control and pharmacology, respectively, they bring added insight and balance to our advisory board.”

Fiona M. Collins, BDS, MBA, MA

Dr. Collins is a national and international speaker and author, and has presented on dental caries, xerostomia, biofilm, disease prevention, dentifrices, infection control, and tobacco cessation. She has given presentations in North America, Europe, the Pacific Rim and the Middle East. She has also participated as a faculty member at OSAP Boot Camps. Dr. Collins is a member of the American Dental Association and is the ADA representative to AAMI. She is also a member of the American Association for Dental Research, ADA Standards Committee working groups, the Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention (OSAP), and is a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy. During her career, Fiona has lived and worked in five countries. Dr. Collins graduated as a general dentist from the University of Glasgow in Scotland and holds an MBA and an MA from Boston University.

Heather Ferrarese, B.Sc. Pharm., PharmD, RPh

Dr. Ferrarese is the owner of Bartle’s Pharmacy located in Oxford, New York. She earned her PharmD from Albany College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences in Albany, NY. Dr. Ferrarese has been an active advocate for community pharmacy for over 25 years. She is currently a second-generation pharmacist and independent pharmacy owner. She is President Elect of the Pharmacists Society of the State of New York and currently Chairs both the Medicaid/Medicaid Managed Care and the Legislative committees.

Dr. Ferrarese is passionate about patient compliance and medication adherence to improve overall clinical outcomes. Heather is involved in the implementation and enhancement of clinical activities including immunizations, medication therapy management services, and disease state management programs. She is currently a preceptor for student pharmacists completing advanced pharmacy practice rotations for multiple colleges of pharmacy.
