Specialty License Requirements for MA and OH

Ohio and Massachusetts both have specialty license requirements when purchasing pharmaceuticals. To comply with applicable state and federal regulations, HealthFirst at times must hold medication shipments for customers for whom we do not have accurate or up-to-date licenses. Read below for guidelines on how to update your specialty license so that your medication replenishment will ship in a timely manner.

About the Ohio TDDD License

The state of Ohio defines a Terminal Distributor of Dangerous Drugs (TDDD) as a person (individual, partnership, association, limited liability company, corporation or government agency) who is engaged in the sale of dangerous drugs at retail, or any person, other than a wholesale distributor or a pharmacist, who has possession, custody, or control of dangerous drugs for any purpose other than for that person’s own use and consumption.
