FAA-AC 121-33B Compliant Emergency Medical Kits (EMKs)
HealthFirst (formerly Banyan) is a pioneer in aviation emergency medical kits. In partnership with major airlines, the FAA and our independent medical advisory board, HealthFirst designed and manufactured the first ever kits to address in-flight medical emergencies.
FAA Part 145 Repair Station
Our facility is an FAA Part 145 Repair Station, specializing in emergency medical kit manufacturing, refurbishing and recertification. We also service air approved Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) and are licensed by the FDA to repackage and refill pharmaceuticals required in the kits. HealthFirst provides the required FAA Form 8130-3 with each refurbished kit or AED.
Create Your Own Kit With Custom Kitting Options
HealthFirst is licensed to manufacture custom kits to meet your specific needs and requirements. Many of our airline partners have enhanced their emergency medical kits based on recommendations from their medical director for common in-flight medical emergencies. Popular additions include epinephrine auto-injectors for anaphylaxis, naloxone opioid reversal and flumazenil for benzodiazepine reversal.
Our kit contents are regularly reviewed by an independent medical advisory board who keep up with changing FAA guidelines helping ensure our kits are compliant with current regulations.
We collaborate with our airline partners to design kits that address passenger safety regulations, while reducing size, weight and associated operational costs.
HealthFirst understands that airlines incur costs for flight diversions and downstream schedule interruptions. Our kits are designed to provide the incident responder with diagnostic tools, equipment and medications to treat common medication emergencies and either address the emergency or determine that a diversion is necessary.
