Ensure Your Office Is Safe from Radiation

HealthFirst environmental product manager Bryan Foss explains why dental offices should take steps to keep their employees below OSHA radiation exposure limits.

ALARA Principle

As Low As Reasonably Achievable

Instadose Adheres to the ALARA Principle which means doing everything you can to minimize the effects of radiation to yourself and your patients.

Account Management Program

With AMP, account administrators can manage all the elements of a radiation monitoring program online anytime, from anywhere. From account administration to managing individual wearers and devices, AMP will give you real time access to account details, device assignments, reports, and all your pertinent account information.

Secure Online Account Management

AMP restricts users within an account from seeing other wearers’ data and from making changes to the main account. The account administrator assigns each instadose™ device to a specific user. Each device has an embedded unique serial code that gets assigned to an individual user.

You will need a username and password. If you purchased the Instadose devices from HealthFirst you can obtain your username and password by calling Instadose Customer Support at 800-251-3331. You must provide the serial numbers located on each dosimeter.

The Instadose reader software will be downloaded during the registration process. Each device must be activated by completing the four step registration process during which devices can be assigned to users. Users are assigned a username and temporary password. Users will be prompted to change the password the first time logging into AMP.
No, each device has a unique serial number embedded into the device. Once the device is registered to an individual, that device is associated with that wearer. To obtain a dose reading from the device you must login to AMP (Account Management Program). Unless you have the username and password associated with that device you will not have access.
Unlike other x-ray badges on the market that need to be returned for processing to obtain dose levels, the technology behind Instadose allows users to perform their own dose reading via the internet eliminating the need to return the device for processing.
No, a control badge is used to subtract background radiation exposure during transit and while the badge is stored at the customer’s facility. This exposure is accounted for and removed through the proprietary algorithm.
Simply follow the Reset your password form and a temporary password will be sent to you.
As part of a good “As Low As Reasonably Achievable” (ALARA) program, it is recommended devices be read once a week. Using the principles of ALARA means doing everything you can to minimize the effects of radiation to yourself and your patients.
